TEACHING

Education constitutes one of the main endeavors of the Reverón Piano Trio. They have been an ensemble in residence at the Aruba Symphony Festival, the Collaborative Piano Institute, Dickinson College, Louisiana State University, Lawrence University, New Mexico State University, and University of Wisconsin. Together, they offer a unique blend of expertise that includes the highest level of instrumental instruction as well as mentorship on artistic entrepreneurship, social justice in music, and effectiveness in learning. Ana María, Simón and Horacio are in the faculty of Louisiana State University, New Mexico State University, Lawrence University, and the Music Institute of Chicago.

The members of the trio are committed instrumental pedagogues that teach the younger generations of pianists, violinists and cellists at the highest level. They have conducted instrumental master classes and taught private lessons and coachings at institutions including Juilliard, the University of Michigan, Oberlin, Bloomington, as well as conservatories and universities in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Horacio continuously researches new teaching methods to contribute to the development of young cellists. His adaptation for cello of the celebrated Exercises in Various Combinations of Double-Stops by Dr. Roland Vamos was published by Carl Fischer.

Ana Maria’s passion for learning and practicing music more efficiently, led her to the creation of an innovative class at Louisiana State University, “Learning Effectively.” This topic has taken her to lecture at places as diverse as the MTNA National Conference, Cambridge University, the Universidade Estadual de Maringá, the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, the Orvieto Festival in Italy, the University of Minnesota, University of Denver, and many more institutions in the United States and abroad. In addition, she is committed to the education of the next generation of collaborative pianists though her work at LSU and at the Collaborative Piano Summer Institute.
